🇬🇧Two concerts with Méridien 4°, conducted by Gérard Noack — both with fantastic solistes, cellist Pauline Lambert in Enghien, and at the Festival Musiq’3 in Louvain-la-Neuve with cimbalom soloist Aleksandra Dzenisenia.

I really enjoy playing in this flute orchestra. The flute orchestra is quite a famous formation in Japan — at least among flutists — and there are many concerts you can attend if you’re interested.
I wanted to participate in one of the flute orchestra concerts during my stay in Japan, but unfortunately, it was during the COVID-19 pandemic, so it was impossible to gather a large number of flute players.
As far as I know, there was no flute orchestra in Belgium, but my flutist friend created one, and I had the chance to join this project.
I also had the opportunity to play the contrabass flute, which I like very much. It’s really difficult to produce a sound at first, but once you can make its deep, earthy, meditative tone, you feel as if you were a Tibetan monk. It’s also fascinating to make music from the point of view of a bass player. The audience is always curious to take a closer look at my contrabass flute made of PVC, built by Pierre Coulon. I often end up chatting with them about the instrument — enjoyable conversations and warm exchanges after the concerts.
