Concert in Yokohama with Marc Grauwels

Updated: Jan 29

Although a little late, I had the great pleasure of performing at the 10th anniversary concert of “Un Bel Momento” together with my former teacher from the Conservatoire of Mons, Marc Grauwels, and Emi Shinzato.

Despite the weekday afternoon, we were truly grateful to everyone who came to the concert — thank you so much for your presence and support.

The programme focused mainly on opera aria variations.Maestro Grauwels’ powerful, vivid playing — music that is never the same twice — created an atmosphere full of life and spontaneity, which the audience clearly enjoyed.

We received many wonderful comments such as:“I have never heard such live, vibrant music before,”“It felt as if the maestro himself was the embodiment of music,”and “My image of the flute has completely changed.”

For nearly twenty years, I had dreamed of performing together with my teacher in Japan. Thanks to Emi’s support, that long-held wish finally came true, and I am deeply grateful.

Playing alongside my teacher once again reminded me how much there is still to learn, while at the same time being an incredibly joyful experience. With her extensive experience in Italy and her long career accompanying opera singers, Emi’s musicality was highly praised by the maestro himself, who exclaimed, “Bravo!”

Some audience members also kindly told me that they were captivated by the beauty of my own sound — words that encourage me to continue striving, practicing, and improving every day.

My heartfelt thanks go to everyone who joined us for this special moment.
